This beautiful period property sits in the village of Mynyddygarreg, less than 2 miles from Kidwelly, South Wales. The house is situated just a short drive to Carmarthenshire's award winning 8 mile beach at Pembrey Country Park as well as lots of other attractions. With a large enclosed garden, outdoor private hot tub, an 8 person "barrel" sauna and separate games room with original pub pool table and darts, The Croft is the perfect holiday home for larger groups of friends and families.
The main house has five bedrooms (sleeping 11), including four with zip/link beds, which give the option of flexibility, being either kingsize or twins. The fifth 5th bedroom has standard size bunk beds. The May Annex just across the patio and within the walled gardens of the house has a 1st floor ‘treble’ bedroom which can be made up as a kingsize and a single or 3 singles, so sleeps 3. Total capacity of house sleeps 14 plus 1 x travel cot for under 2 years only.
The ‘Cwtch’ is a mezzanine room that can be accessed via a small wooden stairway from the utility room or from one of the double bedrooms through a small, child sized doorway making it perfect for a family.
The Master bedroom has a king size bed and a single bed (although can be made up as 3 x singles), very large en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and corner bath.
There is also a shared family bathroom with bath and over bath shower.
There is a ground floor WC for added convenience.
There is a small bathroom in the May Annex with toilet, handbasin and shower cubicle, ideal for the guests staying in the annex or anyone using the games room which is the main ground floor room in the May Annex.
The dining room is ideal for gathering around and celebrating special occasions and also has a handy hatchway through from the kitchen, which is well-equipped for catering for large groups, or putting together picnics for days out and about exploring. After a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, retire to the spacious sitting room where you can relax and enjoy a snooze or watch a film on the smart TV. The kitchen is next to the utility, which has a door leading onto the patio, where you will find the luxurious sauna, hot tub and access to The May Annex with a games room. In here is a pool table, dartboard, children games as well as it's own smart TV. Outside, the play area in the enclosed garden creates somewhere for the younger ones to run around and burn off any excess energy, while there is also a children's play park a minute walk away!
One of the many places to keep you occupied nearby (5 minutes drive) is the medieval Kidwelly Castle which guests always feel is well worth a visit. Pembrey Country Park is ten minutes drive away where there is dry skiing, tobogganing, horse riding, outdoor children’s play areas and the beach. Parc Y Bocs is the local dog friendly cafe/ restaurant/farm shop where there are wonderful lakes, Llamas, children play area with hobbit hole and pavilion and chicks to feed. In Kidwelly town, a 25 minute walk away there are pubs, cafes, takeaways and a variety of small local shops including a beauty salon and hairdresser.
You can easily explore the Brecon Beacons, the Pembroke Coast National Park, or why not take a stroll through the popular seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot. The Millennium Coastal Path is just a couple of miles away, perfect for walking or cycling. If you fancy going down the pub The Masons Arms in Kidwelly, with its thatched roof is one of the oldest pubs in Wales with good food and there are many more to explore in the town. All these things make The Croft a great choice of holiday destination for exploring South Wales!
