About The Croft - our latest luxury holiday house for larger groups (sleeps 14)

This beautiful period property sits in the village of Mynyddygarreg, less than 2 miles from Kidwelly, South Wales. The house is situated just a short drive to Carmarthenshire's award winning 8 mile beach at Pembrey Country Park as well as lots of other attractions. With a large enclosed garden, outdoor private hot tub, an 8 person "barrel" sauna and separate games room with original pub pool table and darts, The Croft is the perfect holiday home for larger groups of friends and families.

The main house has five bedrooms (sleeping 11), including four with zip/link beds, which give the option of flexibility, being either kingsize or twins. The fifth 5th bedroom has standard size bunk beds. The May Annex just across the patio and within the walled gardens of the house has a 1st floor ‘treble’ bedroom which can be made up as a kingsize and a single or 3 singles, so sleeps 3. Total capacity of house sleeps 14 plus 1 x travel cot for under 2 years only.

The ‘Cwtch’ is a mezzanine room that can be accessed via a small wooden stairway from the utility room or from one of the double bedrooms through a small, child sized doorway making it perfect for a family.

The Master bedroom has a king size bed and a single bed (although can be made up as 3 x singles), very large en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and corner bath.
There is also a shared family bathroom with bath and over bath shower.

There is a ground floor WC for added convenience.

There is a small bathroom in the May Annex with toilet, handbasin and shower cubicle, ideal for the guests staying in the annex or anyone using the games room which is the main ground floor room in the May Annex.

The dining room is ideal for gathering around and celebrating special occasions and also has a handy hatchway through from the kitchen, which is well-equipped for catering for large groups, or putting together picnics for days out and about exploring. After a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, retire to the spacious sitting room where you can relax and enjoy a snooze or watch a film on the smart TV. The kitchen is next to the utility, which has a door leading onto the patio, where you will find the luxurious sauna, hot tub and access to The May Annex with a games room. In here is a pool table, dartboard, children games as well as it's own smart TV. Outside, the play area in the enclosed garden creates somewhere for the younger ones to run around and burn off any excess energy, while there is also a children's play park a minute walk away!

One of the many places to keep you occupied nearby (5 minutes drive) is the medieval Kidwelly Castle which guests always feel is well worth a visit. Pembrey Country Park is ten minutes drive away where there is dry skiing, tobogganing, horse riding, outdoor children’s play areas and the beach. Parc Y Bocs is the local dog friendly cafe/ restaurant/farm shop where there are wonderful lakes, Llamas, children play area with hobbit hole and pavilion and chicks to feed. In Kidwelly town, a 25 minute walk away there are pubs, cafes, takeaways and a variety of small local shops including a beauty salon and hairdresser.

You can easily explore the Brecon Beacons, the Pembroke Coast National Park, or why not take a stroll through the popular seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot. The Millennium Coastal Path is just a couple of miles away, perfect for walking or cycling. If you fancy going down the pub The Masons Arms in Kidwelly, with its thatched roof is one of the oldest pubs in Wales with good food and there are many more to explore in the town. All these things make The Croft a great choice of holiday destination for exploring South Wales!

As owners of nearby Dyffryn House we have many years experience of running a spacious, family friendly holiday let for large groups and The Croft is our newest addition, drawing on our experience and guests feedback to create a holiday home which delivers!

“Excellent family-friendly accomodation” 5 of 5 stars We had the good fortune to stumble across this newly refurbished accommodation whilst looking for a spot to house a 9 strong family golfing trip over the Easter holidays. It's very clear that the owners have put an enormous amount of time and effort into making The Croft a warm, happy holiday home. Nothing was too much trouble, we were greeted by both Andy and Laura on arrival and given a tour. Rooms were plenty big enough to house 9 of us without having to use the adjoining annex/games room. A perfect spot for us to play at Ashburnham and Machynys, or for a visit to Parc y Scarlets or Ffos Las, I would unhesitatingly recommend staying here if you are holidaying as a group in the locality.

I booked a 3 night break for our family, 7 adults and 6 children ages 2-9 and we were thrilled with our choice. This house is totally gorgeous and has everything you need for a relaxed stay. The lounge is huge with 5 sofas so plenty of space for all of us in there at the same time, and the same with the dining room - brilliant! The garden is big and plenty of room for the children to play. We loved the sauna and the games room was a huge hit especially with the lads who did an ongoing competition whilst we were there. Having 2 Smart T.V’s was good with a big group as it meant we didn’t argue over what to watch and the girls didn’t have to watch sport all the time as thats what the lads watched in the Games room. The bedrooms area good size and all beds new and comfy with lovely bedding - the ‘Cwtch’ bedroom is small but was perfect for our two little ones who loved it. The main bathroom is beautifully done and I understand that the owners have just fully refurbished the whole house and it really is very nicely done. The kitchen is really modern and had everything we needed and although its not huge it is very handy to have the extra work space and sink etc in the utility room next door. All in all we all agreed this house was perfect and we will be coming back again for sure.

We enjoyed our stay at the Croft. The house is newly furnished, very clean, had big rooms, high ceilings, thick walls so no traffic noise since the road was quiet too. The kitchen is small (we are a foody family) but well equipped and worked well for us. The area has lovely beaches and castles all over the place.

The cottage was big enough for everyone to be comfortable and the games room was a added bonus.
Mrs Ceryl Jenkins
The cottage is located within easy access of local attractions. Well furnished with excellent facilities, the property also has a lovely sauna and a games room
